Fratelli Tutti event
Explore the key messages of Pope Francis’ Encyclical Letter Fratelli Tutti and how it can inform your life, at an event at Sacred Heart Parish, 28 Lauriston Street, Edinburgh EH3 9DJ on Wednesday 7 June from 7-9pm.
Run Alpha
The Archdiocese hosts a ‘Run Alpha’ training day for parishes interested in trying Alpha. Alpha is an evangelisation tool used by many churches and denominations throughout the world, and can be utilised in a Catholic context. Join us on Saturday 10 June, from 9:30am to 3:30pm at the Gillis Centre, 100 Strathearn Road, Edinburgh, EH9 1BB. Please bring a packed lunch. Register on Eventbrite: bit.ly/archedventbrite
Tarira Concert
A choir from the Faroe Islands, will give a free concert at 7:00pm on Saturday 10 June at Sacred Heart Church, Lauriston Street, Edinburgh, EH3 9DJ. The programme includes music by Gibbons, Pärt, Byrd, Victoria and Lauridsen, together with Faroese composers. All welcome.
Corpus Christi Procession
A Corpus Christi procession will take place in Falkirk town centre at 2:30pm on Sunday 11 June. The procession will head to St Francis Xavier’s Church for Benediction followed by refreshments in the church hall. Altar Servers can wear their altar robes and those who have recently had their First Holy Communion can wear their dresses/suits.
St Margaret’s Pilgrimage
St Margaret’s Pilgrimage returns to Dunfermline on Sunday 18 June. Mass is at 2:30pm in St Margaret’s Memorial Church in East Port, with Archbishop Cushley as principal celebrant. Ecumenical service at 12:30pm in Dunfermline Abbey, followed by prayers at the tomb of St Margaret. Join people from across the Archdiocese and beyond to give thanks to God for St Margaret’s example of faith, charity and leadership.
Compassion to Hope
An event to celebrate the lives of migrants, refugees and asylum seekers in Scotland, with ‘music, poetry, silence and celebration’. This event takes place on Tuesday 20 June at 4:30pm in the hall of Sacred Heart Church, 28 Lauriston Street, Edinburgh, EH3 9DJ.
Vocations Mass
The next Mass to pray for Vocations to the priesthood and religious life is at 7pm on Friday 23 June at St Margaret’s, Hope View, Loch Road, South Queensferry, EH30 9LS. All are welcome to attend.
July
Oggie! Oggie! Oggie!
This new play based on the Confessions of St Augustine is on tour and will be performed at St Paul’s Church, 173 Warout Road, Glenrothes, KY7 4ER, on Sunday 30 July at 7:30pm. It will also be at the Edinburgh Fringe from 23-27 August. More at www.oggieshow.co.uk
